El astronauta Don Pettit fue miembro de la Expedition nº6 a la Estación Espacial Internacional. Se le ocurrió tomar fotografías de la vista que estando en órbita tenía de las ciudades del mundo durante la noche. Tuvo que usar un programa especial para evitar que el movimiento de la nave desenfocara las imágenes y luego las montó en un video espectacular. Asi se puede hacer un tour por las luces urbanas tal y como se ven desde el espacio.
